November 2025 Presentation

  • Engineers Club of Dayton 110 East Monument Avenue Dayton, OH, 45402 United States (map)

Although Fiber Reinforced Concrete (FRC) has been used since the 1960’s, there have been little to no-agreed upon design approaches in North America for many of their potential applications…. Until now.  New developments in materials technology and the addition of field experience to the engineering knowledge base have expanded the applications of FRC to include design guides that are now material independent and recognized by the engineering community.  This program will discuss the current market trends, design tools, case studies and potential developments with an emphasis on durability and sustainability.

Michael Mahoney is a Professional Engineer directing marketing, research, strategic initiatives and product development for Euclid Chemical’s entire fiber reinforcement product line.  Mr. Mahoney is a Fellow and member of the American Concrete Institute and a past president of the FRC Association.  He has an M.A.Sc. in Civil Engineering from the Technical University of Nova Scotia, Halifax, Canada, and has co-authored several papers on FRC, shotcrete, carbon footprint of fiber materials and innovative bridge systems.  Michael currently directs research and marketing projects while educating engineers and contractors on the use of FRC.

A buffet lunch will be served.
